THE winner of a garden centre competition is looking forward to seeing a rose that she has named after herself for sale at Frosts in Woburn Sands this spring.

Jan Redding from Old Farm Park aptly named the red rose ‘Madame Rouge’ after being selected as the lucky winner of the Frosts 65th Birthday Name a Rose competition.

The entries were whittled down to just 10, from which the growers, Wharton’s Roses, chose Madame Rouge.

Jan was presented with two ‘Madame Rouges’ by Jeremy Frost who said: “It has been a pleasure to have Mrs Redding name such a beautiful rose and we predict that it will be a favourite with our customers.”
