Acclaimed Milton Keynes singer kicks off national charity tour

Starting in Milton Keynes on Saturday, the tour has been organised by international charity Mercy Ships which operate the world’s largest private floating hospital.

On each date of the Mercy Ships tour the two artists will provide an entertaining and engaging night of music and magic, while also sharing moving and inspirational stories from their recent trip to West Africa.

In January Nicki and Dan flew 3,000 miles to spend a week on board the ship, witnessing the charity’s work in action and meeting some of the children and adults whose lives have been transformed forever thanks to the free safe surgery and healthcare made available by Mercy Ships and its team of specialised volunteers.

Tickets are free for this first launch event and are already going fast with only a handful of seats remaining.

The event, which begins at 7.30pm, is being held in Fox Milne at Grand Union Vineyard Church.

Throughout the evening Nicki will be performing songs from her last three albums as Dan dazzles the audience with his phenomenal magic and illusions.

Guests can enjoy a free glass of bubbly, chance to win some amazing prizes and learn more about Mercy Ships.

The global charity delivers vital, free healthcare services to individuals and communities with little access in some of Africa’s poorest nations such as Madagascar, the Republic of Congo and Benin, where the ship is currently docked.

“One of my most treasured moments was when I got the chance to cuddle four-year-old Syplian while he fell to sleep in my arms not long after we had watched his very successful but pretty brutal corrective surgery for a cleft lip.

“We went on a journey with this wee boy and pretty much fell in love with him.

“I have a little boy too and it really brought it home to me as a mum just how important the work of Mercy Ships is, which is why it is such a privilege to work with them on this national tour.

“It’s so special to know that Syplian’s life has been changed forever by the operation he received for free from the charity and I can’t wait to not only perform with Dan on the night, but also share more inspirational and special stories like his.”
