Newport Pagnell Town Council held its Annual Town Meeting at the United Reformed Church on April 19 to discuss a number of important matters.
Dozens of people attended the meeting which was hosted by the Town Mayor, Councillor Wendy Egan.
Residents learned about the Town Council services, its finances and its aims. Presentations from volunteer groups and the fire and police services were given, and most importantly residents had the opportunity to ask Councillors questions about the Town.
This year the Annual Town Award was presented to Richard Pearson, who has worked tirelessly to the benefit of the Newport Pagnell throughout the year as the chairman of the Newport Pagnell Partnership.
Mr Pearson said: “The Partnership is comprised of four working groups: the Friends of Newport Pagnell Library, The Heritage Group, The Parking and Transport Group and The Gardening Group. I can only accept this award on behalf of all the volunteers who put such effort into these groups.”
