Apprenticeships with some world-beating firms are being showcased at Milton Keynes College Open Day on Saturday.
Red Bull Racing, the double World Championship winning team, will be bringing along one of their Formula One show cars to the College’s new Innovation & Technology Centre at its Chaffron Way Campus, and talking to students about the opportunity of apprenticeships within the company, in partnership with TXM Recruit Ltd.
Niftylift, JTL, Cosworth, and Rockwell Automation will also be promoting their apprenticeship programmes. These are just some of the many employers the College has forged strong links with in an effort to open up real job opportunities for its students.
Sally Watts, Director of Marketing at the College. said: “In these times of high unemployment, it’s more important than ever for us to offer a step on a career path to school leavers and other young, and not so young, students.
“The open day is there to give inspiration to a broad range of would-be students - whether they aspire to Higher Education or a vocation, or would prefer to take A levels in a College rather than a school, or if they chose to learn while they earn by doing an Apprenticeship.”
Information on a huge range of courses will be available, including: Business, Art, Design & Media, Health & Social Care, Retail, Engineering, Hair & Beauty, Construction, Travel & Tourism, Catering & Hospitality, Sports Science, Accounting, Motor Vehicle & Motor Sport, and a host more.
The open day is free and takes place between 11am and 2pm. Potential students and guests are welcome. For more information about which campus to attend to find out about different subject areas, visit the College’s website by clicking here or call 01908 684452.
