A hairdresser from a city hair salon has reached the regional finals of the L’Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy 2013.

April Rose, who works at The Joseph’s Experience salon in Broughton, has also recently been awarded the L’Oreal Professionnel Colour Specialist degree, which has only been awarded to 700 people.

The Regional Finalists will be competing at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, in Cambridge on April 8. Zoe Hardman will be presenting the evening, and four judges chosen from multi-award winning icons of the hair industry will choose who will go forward to the National Finals.

April said: “I am so excited to be able to take part in this competition, where I have the opportunity to be creative and imagine how hair and colour will look in the coming seasons. I will be going to Cambridge with our make up artist to create the look, and then show case it in front of a huge audience. It is a tremendous opportunity for me.”

Joanna Stephens, managing director of The Joseph’s Experience salons, said: “We are so proud of April’s achievements this year. To be awarded her colour degree earlier in March, followed by winning through to the Regional Finals of the Colour Trophy 2013 is an amazing achievement. Her colleagues will be going to cheer her on at Cambridge.”
