Police hope CCTV may help to identify the crooks who set five vehicles alight in a series of arson attacks this morning.

Officers are asking the public to send in their footage after cars and a lorry caught fire at Abbotsfield, Osprey Close and Montagu Drive, Eaglestone, between 2am and 2.20am.

One of the fires spread to a nearby house where a family-of-four had to be evacuated.

PC James Punter said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to please contact police immediately via 101.

“If anyone has any CCTV footage from the area please let the police know as this may help in identifying the offenders.”

Officers have been at the scene today conducting enquiries and providing reassurance to local residents.

If anyone has any concerns, please speak to officers or call Thames Valley Police on 101 for advice.

If you don’t want to speak directly to the police contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
