Attempted murder in Milton Keynes: Man struck with scaffolding pole on building site

An attempted murder investigation has been launched in Newport Pagnell after a man was believed to have been struck with a scaffolding pole.

The 42-year-old man sustained serious head injuries following an altercation at a building site in Rowditch Furlong at around 8am yesterday.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by air ambulance, where he is receiving treatment.

A 23-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, both from Luton, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are in custody.

A scene watch is in place today and officers are in the area conducting enquiries.

Det Ch Insp Mark Glover said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation and are working to establish exactly what has taken place. At this time we believe that the victim and the offenders know each other.

“We currently have two people in custody being questioned today. If anyone has any information about this incident, please speak to officers in the area or call 101.”
