A FOOTBALL fan has been given a three-year banning order after he damaged a safety barrier and hurled abuse outside stadium:mk.

Sheffield United supporter Stefan Dean was arrested on Saturday November 10 as he left the stadium after officers saw him kicking a safety barrier and shouting abuse at opposition fans following MK Dons last gasp 1-0 win over his side.

Police warned Dean, of Lundwood Grove, Owlthorpe in Sheffield, about his behaviour and when he carried on he was arrested.

He admitted the public order offence at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Friday, as well as a separate charge of possessing cocaine. He was fined £405 along with his ban.

Football Liaison Officer, PC Jimmy O’Brien, said: “We simply won’t tolerate this kind of behaviour at a family club like MK Dons and anyone who thinks they can act in this fashion can expect to be arrested and brought before the courts.

“We will continue to work in partnership with the club to ensure football matches remain a safe and friendly environment for all supporters.”
