A MAN has been banned from football grounds for three years after running on the pitch at stadium:mk.
Yousef Ayub, aged 23, from Angus Drive, Bletchley, pleaded guilty to one count under Section 4 of the Football Offences Act on Thursday, and was sentenced to a three year football banning order and an £85 fine.
On September 1, Ayub ran onto the pitch at the MK Dons versus Carlisle United league one game at the stadium and ran towards the away fans, making offensive gestures towards them and exposing his rear.
Ayub was detained by club stewards and subsequently arrested and charged.
PC James O’Brien, investigating officer, said: “Thames Valley Police, working with MK Dons, bought this prosecution to show that supporters visiting stadiumMK that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated. The majority of the time the stadium is a safe and friendly environment and when individuals act in this manner they will be dealt with robustly.
“The restraint shown by the Carlisle United supporters at the time was greatly appreciated as it allowed stewards and police to concentrate fully on dealing with the offender.”
