A group of city bankers swapped their pens, laptops and suits for a day of gardening, painting and building at the Fishermead community garden.

The team of 12 volunteers from Lloyds TSB put all their effort into transforming the recently opened community garden into a peaceful place where people can relax.

Philip Fulton, the commercial banking director at Lloyds TSB, said: “Lloyds are delighted to be involved with the Fishermead community project.

“It’s great to help out in some way to create a place where the local community can meet, rest, play and enjoy the space.”

Every Wednesday the garden group meet from 1pm to 5pm and each week there are free themed workshops. If you want to get involved contact Sarah Hodgson on 07738 405391.
