THE West End came to Walton High School this week as the musical Hairspray blew into town.
Students have been performing the hit musical at the new multi-million pound, purpose built theatre – The Venue.
And so far the performances have been as professional as the new building with students wowing audiences. The story follows the life of Tracy Turnblad as she simultaneously pursues stardom as a dancer on a local TV show and rallies against racial segregation.
Audience members who went to see the production have described it as one of the most professional performances they have ever seen.
Hairspray the musical enjoyed a spell at the Milton Keynes Theatre at the end of last year and proved a huge hit. Judging on early reviews the Walton High cast could be just as popular.
