Green-loving Bletchley residents joined West Bletchley Council officers, and the local Conservation Trust Volunteers (TCV) at Chepstow Local Park this month.

The group took on work including the removal of some of the vegetation and some of the small self-set willow trees within the pond. Too many nutrients in the pond has encouraged the growth of duckweed, this reduces the levels of oxygen in the pond and stimulates the plant growth.

Simon Rose, parks and environment officer for West Bletchley Council, said “This was a very enjoyable day for all involved and a big thank you to everyone who supported this event in our Green Flag park.”
