CASH raised by Wyevale Woburn Sands will help families touched by life limiting illnesses after staff donated more than £1,600 to Willen Hospice.

The garden centre on Newport Road hosted a charity grotto from November 26 until December 24 to raise funds.

Dominic Wright, manager of Wyevale Woburn Sands, said: “We are delighted we’ve managed to help raise £1,640 for Willen Hospice, which provides specialist care and support to patients and families.”

Willen Hospice is a registered charity, which provides free care and support to all people affected by life limiting illness, such as cancer, and helps the patient and their family deal with their physical, social, emotional and spiritual pain.

Allison Waterhouse, Events and Community Fundraiser for Willen Hospice, said: “We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Wyevale Woburn Sands Garden Centre for such a fantastic donation.”
