The scheme venues including at Bletchley, Coffee Hall, Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford, Woburn Sands, Wolverton and Wolverton Mill, take part.

Councillor Denise Brunning, Stony Stratford, said: “I became involved with the Stony Stratford venue when I donated a number of blankets I had stored from my mum’s house move to sheltered accommodation.

“While there I asked if there was anything else it needed for their weekly open doors on a Thursday evening.”

She added: “They said teas and coffee – which the church had try to fund itself. I then approached the manager of Tesco Store Wolverton for help who offered to donate what was on our list.”

A number of local residents have already showed an interest in supporting the church by offering to cook meals and help with the washing.

Councillor Brunning has has also joined other community leaders to donate food, underwear and toiletries.
