Building Bridges with Pride in MK

Pride In Mk Awards
Pride In Mk Awards

The Pride in Milton Keynes Awards may be months away but already nominations have been pouring in for a number of different categories.

Terry and Julie Baines, as well as the whole of Fishermead Residents’ Association, have been nominated in two categories including Making MK Safer and Service with a Smile.

The group has been praised for its hard work on Fishermead under the motto ‘Building Bridges’ where they have arranged clean-up days and litter picks.

Recently their efforts were featured in the Citizen after they transformed a patch of grass into an area for allotments and other activities.

The group holds monthly meetings to tackle local issues with key speakers who help residents who have anti-social behaviour issues, money problems or noise concerns.

They also run summer fun days, a Christmas fair and drop-in sessions in their own time and volunteers regularly deliver leaflets regarding meetings and community events.
