SOME 107 businesses across Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire have won contracts at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The South East Partnership announced on June 7 that the area has picked up a number of what it calls legacy achievements, including having seven communities on the route of the Olympic Torch Relay.
The partnership says more than 8,500 employees in the region have been trained to improve customer service to encourage return visits to the region.
Tourism has benefited, too, through international press contacts writing more than 2,000 articles about the south east.
Peter Colling, MD for Tourism South East said: “Our international marketing activity has resulted in over £5million of additional international media coverage for South East destinations and around 100 hosted trade and media visits.”
