A MILTON Keynes planning expert is warning developers to submit planning applications now to avoid a possible 15 per cent rise in fees.

Jeremy Pyatt, who heads up real estate services provider Savills planning team in Shirwell Crescent, Furzton, said draft regulations set out a rise of 15 per cent in the cost of planning applications in England.

Mr Pyatt said: “These draft regulations provide a more simplified approach to exceptions and by consolidating existing regulations should prove easier to navigate and interpret. However, the 15 per cent anticipated rise in cost is not insignificant and those in a position to do so, should make their applications before the anticipated October 1 deadline.”

The Draft 2012 Fee Regulations have yet to be ratified by Parliament, but it is anticipated that the rise, once approved, will come into force in October 2012.
