A top commercial banker in the Milton Keynes area is retiring after 40 years with HSBC and eight years in his area role.

Andy Mason, from Potterspury, near Old Stratford, is stepping down as area commercial director for Northants, Milton Keynes and North Bedfordshire to be replaced by Dave Welch.

Andy, who has lived in the Milton Keynes area since 1993, said: “Northants and Milton Keynes are both distinct economies and business districts, but they share some common themes. They are both populated by forward-thinking, innovative and go-ahead businesses and they both boast high quality professionals of great integrity. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as area commercial director here and have made some brilliant friends.”

Dave Welch has moved to the role from a similar position covering Mid-Lincolnshire, Peterborough and the Fens and is responsible for businesses with a turnover of between £500,000 and £30 million. He will lead HSBC’s 32 strong team across the patch.
