An electrical apprentice from Milton Keynes has been honoured in the 2012 ECA Edmundson Awards, for his consistent high standard of academic and technical work. James Rayner, 23, representing SJD Associates Ltd, scooped the regional �Apprentice of the Year� award, surpassing his highly skilled peers across the region.

ELECTRICAL apprentice James Rayner has scooped the regional Apprentice of the Year title in the 2012 ECA Edmundson Awards for his consistent high standard of academic and technical work.

James, 23, represented SJD Associates, of Mount Avenue, Bletchley and praised the company for the support he has received throughout his apprenticeship.

He narrowly missed out on the national apprentice title but was treated to £500 and a contractor’s tool kit.

Ruth Devine, director at SJD Associates said: “Advanced apprenticeships remain the best way to develop skills in the electrical sector.

“We provide full support and resources to our apprentices to deliver excellent service, problem solving and workmanship for our customers.”
