TV’s Melinda Messenger turned to a Bletchley company to help rescue a family from cowboy builders.

PHS Bathrooms, in Holdom Avenue, supplied products to create an easy access bathroom after builders failed to finish the job despite being paid.

Cowboy Builders’ show presenter Melinda Messenger and her team were helped choose products by showroom manager Chris Leighton.

The family had hired and paid a builder to renovate their home and create a downstairs bathroom with disabled access, which would be accessible for the mum, who suffers with a degenerative form of spinal arthritis. Part way through the project the builder walked off.

PHS donated many of the items and was helped out by one of their suppliers, shower products maker Roman Limited. Roman donated the showering products.

Mr Leighton said: “It was a great pleasure to be asked to help on Channel 5’s Cowboy Builders. Rogue traders give the good guys a bad name to the industry. We really felt for the family involved and were very happy to help create such a stylish bathroom, that would make the family’s life so much easier.”

The programme was aired earlier this month.
