A flagship Milton Keynes store has stepped up its financial support for a local charity.

John Lewis, at thecentre:mk, has upgraded its status with Milton Keynes Dons Sport Educational Trust from a Friend of the Trust to becoming a founder member.

Paul Hunt MD from John Lewis said: “We are delighted to be a founder member of MK Dons Sports and Education Trust for 2012 and are looking forward to becoming more involved with them and the valuable work they accomplish in our community.”

MK Dons SET is a registered charity with its projects in health, education, inclusion and football/sport participation reaching out across five counties and make contact with more than 80,000 people.

Daniel Cole, business development executive of the SET and Academy added: “We are extremely pleased that John Lewis have decided to support the Sport and Education Trust and the astounding work they continue to do in the local community.

“We are also looking forward to building a lasting relationship with them for the future.”

This year the SET has been chosen as the Mayor of Milton Keynes’ nominated charity.
