Buckinghamshire and MK Young Enterprise teams to battle it out in county school business final

Two teams from Milton Keynes will be looking to defend the new city’s proud Young Enterprise record in the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes school business finals tonight (Friday).

New city champs Vetro Fashion, from Milton Keynes Academy, and runners up Lightning, from Ousedale, will be hoping to add to the new city’s three in a row county record at the Open University, in Milton Keynes.

The Vetro team, a multi-cultural, multi-talented team of teenagers, make fashion clothes out of donated goods, keeping costs low.

Lightning put brain teasers and riddles on what they call Magic Mats.

At the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes County Final the eight best companies will compete for awards including the Outstanding Achievement, Best Innovation, Best Trade Stand, Best Company Report and Best Presentation.

Young Enterprise is a UK business education charity, that has a mission is to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise.

Ian Rowe, owner of Gold Fever, is booked as a speaker for tomight’s youth business jamboree. He was part of a six man crew setting out to break the World Record for rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in January 2012, an incredible journey with huge challenges to overcome.

The winner of the Overall Best Company in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes will go forward to the Young Enterprise South East Regional Final at Holloway College, Egham, Surrey. on Thursday June 20.
