Businesses from Milton Keynes are being urged to attend a workshop next month which could help them swim rather than sink in the event of a sudden crisis.

Milton Keynes Council is playing a part in International Business Continuity Awareness week, which takes place during the week starting March 17.

The council and the Milton Keynes Business Resilience Forum are hosting a seminar, Counting the Cost, on Wednesday March19, from 9am till 1pm in the council chamber – and it’s entirely free.

Focusing around the impact of disruptions, with particular emphasis on information security, cyber-crime and hacking prevention.

With an excellent line up of speakers from both government and industry, including the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure, Network Rail, Microsoft, BSI and OCF IT Security Consultants this seminar will raise awareness of current threats and give tips on how to increase resilience.

Councillor David Hopkins, council member responsible for the local economy, said: “In the event of a crisis, a proper business resilience plan can make the crucial difference between a company sinking or surviving.” Visit http://mkbrf-ctc.eventbrite.co.uk
