The Milton Keynes arm of a business that is celebrating its 175th anniversary has selected MK Hospital’s Leo’s Appeal as its focus for the year.
Bidwells, one of the UKs oldest property firms, will be fundraising for the appeal and using its official volunteering days to help local charities, organisations and initiatives.
The firm has given every employee two fully paid Volunteer Days, which can be deployed for any good cause of their choosing.
Leo’s Appeal is raising £200,000 for the children’s wards at Milton Keynes Hospital. The appeal will help redevelop and enhance facilities for families and carers and fundraise for play equipment.
A Leo’s Appeal spokesman said: “We’re delighted to be working with Bidwells as part of their 175th Anniversary celebrations, and welcome them on board as part of Team Leo.
“Being admitted to hospital is especially frightening for children and young people and through Leo’s Appeal we’ll be making ward areas even more child and family friendly. Money raised from this partnership will play a big part in making that happen and we can’t wait to see what the staff have planned over the year.”
“The work Leo’s Appeal is doing is absolutely critical to the community it serves as the hospital sees 36,000 children per year. By helping raise money and using our volunteer days to support this cause we can really help to make further improvements for children, young people and their families in Milton Keynes.”
Ian Peck, head of Milton Keynes at Bidwells, said: “Having personally been to the hospital, I am twice as determined to help them with the great work that they do.
“Please help us make a difference in any way you can.”
Bidwells employs almost 500 people in 12 offices across England and Scotland and provides services across the commercial, residential and rural sectors.
