A Milton Keynes tea shop business has been turned into a national franchise.
Tea Monkey, in Midsummer Place Shopping Centre, could be cloned around the country if business people find the operation attractive.
A typical full cafe similar to the one in central Milton Keynes will require operators to pay an initial £17,500 licence fee and £5,000 on training. Franchises have proved popular because they mean businesses can be set up using a ready made model.
The Tea Monkey franchise, launched on Twitter before Christmas, will also require spending on a shop fit, a monthly commission and national marketing.
The Tea Monkey store in Central Milton Keynes opened in 2011 and has won a bag of awards since then. The brand was founded by entrepreneur and business consultant Tracey Bovingdon and has another branch in Bath.
