James Bond’s latest all action outing Skyfall proved to be a real boost to footfall at a major leisure venue in Milton Keynes.
Xscape’s boss, the X-Leisure chief executive PY Gerbeau, said trade and visitor figures make the company “optimistic that we are on course for strong growth into 2013.”
The October half term saw Xscape Milton Keynes record its busiest week in three years. Retailers reported increases in trade of up to 104 per cent and restaurants were up 136 per cent compared with the same week last year. And the tills continued to ring after the half-term, too.
Since half term footfall into the centre has remained buoyant, with traffic up 14 per cent.
Xscape was established 12 years ago this month and a spokesman said indications were now pointing towards a bumper Christmas period.
