A MILTON Keynes company has won a contract to provide health screenings to a leading medical reporting businesss.

Screenetics, of Foxhunter Drive, Linford Wood, is providing health screenings as an employee benefit to Capita Health and Wellbeing, a company that provies services including writing medical reports to settle legal disputes.

The screenings have been taken up by 144 members of staff in the company’s Ludlow, Reading, Hinkley, Purley and Durham offices.

Staff at Capita Health and Wellbeing were introduced to the benefit during a ‘wellness day’ at the company. They had the opportunity to burn calories on Screenetics’ juice bike, enter a competition to win a day’s holiday by guessing their metabolic age, and to receive a reminder of an existing subsidised gym membership scheme.

Screenetics’ health checks cover a core set of tests that are non-invasive. Results are available immediately as well as an in-depth report. Employees also have the opportunity to discuss results immediately with medical experts from Screenetics and can take away an action plan at the end of the session.

Jo Sharp, a business support manager at Capita Health and Wellbeing said: “I’ve been impressed by the amount of staff who have been screened so far, as I thought it might be quite difficult to engage them with their health. I’m passionate about setting up benefits that promote long term healthy living. Those who have seen Screenetics to date have found the sessions educational, enjoyable and informative.”

The tests include an analysis of cholesterol, diabetes, H.pylori (the cause of stomach ulcers and often misdiagnosed as IBS), iron levels, cardiac risk assessment, a prostate blood test for men, and a full body composition test.

The session also includes a lifestyle assessment and an action plan to help maintain good health.
