Laurence Whitehead, head of corporate finance at the city office of accounting firm MHA MacIntyre Hudson, has been named Dealmaker of the Year at the Insider Central and East of England Dealmakers Awards.
Mr Whitehead and the team have advised on deals including the management buy-out of Master Abrasives and Rutland Cycling, the sale of Custom Communications to Virtua UK and the sale of European Filtration to the Dutch company Affina Netherlands Holdings.
He beat off stiff competition from Grant Thornton, BDO, Mazars, Price Bailey and PwC to win the prestigious award for the second time in five years.
Mr Whitehead said: “It is a great honour to win the award and be recognised by my peers. I would like to thank all those who voted for me. My team and I are looking forward to an equally successful 2014.”
