A Marshall amp is being raffled off to raise cash for Willen Hospice

Music fans can win a rare custom-built 1962 Bluesbreaker Combo Amp in a raffle to raise funds for a hospice charity.

Iconic music brand Marshall Amplification, based in Bletchley, has created a one-of-a-kind amp which will be sold through a raffle to help raise much needed funds for Willen Hospice.

The Milton Keynes-based hospice provides 24 hour palliative care for terminally ill patients over the age of 18 across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area without any cost to patients or families.

Jon Ellery, managing director at Marshall Amps, said: “Marshall is truly honoured to be supporting such a worthwhile local cause.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a 1962 Bluesbreaker Combo Amp, and on behalf of Marshall I would like to say good luck to everyone who participates, and thank you for helping to support Willen Hospice.”

The winner will also receive a personal tour of the Marshall Amplification HQ, where they will be presented with the amp.

Paul Hinson, Willen Hospice Chief Executive, said: “We were over the moon when Marshall approached the hospice to get involved with fundraising. We’re always looking for ways to raise funds and the custom built amp is an innovative and creative way of getting our name and cause out to the wider public.

“We’re hoping that music fans everywhere will help us increase our fundraising target this year and make this one of our best raffles ever.”

The amp has been hand built exclusively for Willen Hospice by Marshall’s Custom Shop in Bletchley. It features a gold-plated chassis, original ‘Bluesbreaker Cloth’ and a speaker grille, and has been hand finished in a classic black Levant vinyl covering.

Tickets for the raffle are £25 each and can be purchased from the Willen Hospice website at www.willen-hospice.org.uk, the Willen Hospice shops or the Lottery Office on 01908 578256.

The winning ticket will be drawn on Thursday May 2, and the winner will be contacted by a representative from Willen Hospice by email, telephone or post.
