TWO members of the Institute of Directors in Milton Keynes have been nominated in the 2010 IOD London and South East Director of the Year Awards.
Dr Alice Maynard is the chair of disability group SCOPE and founded Future Inclusion Ltd, a consultancy working at organisational, team and individual level to bring about the changes designed to drive ethical and inclusive practice, as well as promoting good governance.
Also nominated is Zoe Raven, the founder and managing director of Acorn Childcare Ltd, which opened its eighth nursery last month.
As a disabled person herself, Dr Maynard is fully aware of the difficulties that the business world can produce, but this has not prevented her from founding and managing Future Inclusion Ltd, a consultancy working at organisational, team and individual level to bring about the changes designed to drive ethical and inclusive practice, as well as promoting good governance.
Milton Keynes IOD chairman Jonathan Bailey is delighted. He said: “This is fantastic news when you consider that Alice and Zoe were shortlisted from over 300 nominations for these awards throughout the London and South East region. To have two nominees for such a small number of top awards is amazing. It shows the calibre of the directors we have in Milton Keynes and we’ll be supporting them at the Gala Dinner on the 22 March at the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, London.”
