MK Dons kicked off the new season with two new signings which will further enhance the club’s strong local links.

At the start of the month the Dons joined forces with Bletchley based FSG Property Services which will support the MK Dons Sport and Education Trust by helping to decorate its classroom at stadium:mk.

The move will help to give children a modern, safe and fun environment for their literacy lessons.

Days later the club struck up a partnership with Smith Construction Group which will be sponsoring the team’s Academy and helping to invest in local football development at a grassroots level for other teams.

Ian Smith, group managing director of Smith Construction, said: “All business is about partnerships but this is more than business for us. We hope very much that as a club partner we can help push the Dons on to greater.

“What’s good for the club is good for the city, what’s good for the city is good for Smith Construction Group.

“For all that, we’re fans and a number of us go to the games regularly. We want to be involved and we want to win.”

Jon Lennox, managing director of FSG Property Services, said: “We are delighted to partner with our local football team and look forward to developing a close working relationship with MK Dons.

“As a company we are always seeking new ways to interact with the local community and feel that this opportunity gives us the perfect platform to do so.”
