Every little queue helps as Tesco installs Linford Wood firm’s kit
A Milton Keynes company’s bespoke queue management equipment has been installed in Tesco stores across the country.
Designed for use in the kiosk and self-service check-out areas, the Tensator systems include the company’s own barrier posts and impulse purchase merchandising racks.
Tensator, based in Danbury Court, Linford Wood, also designed a number of post-top signs to advise customers where to queue for specific items, such as lottery tickets and tobacco.
Kevin Hickson, general manager at Tensator said: “Following the success of our initial installation, we’re delighted that our designs have now been approved for use in any of their UK stores.”
Tensator was chosen by Tesco to supply queue management products to one of its stores following a two year tender process.
After the first successful installation, the company’s systems were rolled out across a number of new and refurbished outlets spread throughout the country.
Gavin Ashpool, project manager at Tesco said: “Tensator worked with us at every stage of the design process to understand our requirements and create a customised system that reflects the strong Tesco brand. The move to use Tensator’s products in more of our stores is testament to how happy we are with the systems.”
