A fashion brand that runs fitness training sessions for its workforce has won an award for its commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees.

FOSSIL, in Featherstone Road, Wolverton Mill, Milton Keynes, provides the fitness class run by Simon Williams, who owns fitMK - and the company says it has noticed a difference in workplace performance.

Simon said: “The attitude at FOSSIL was fantastic from the outset. After the first meeting, we agreed to run a fitness training class from their place of business twice a week. It was soon reported back that the staff that were attending had a real noted difference in their performance at work, so Fossil then set up a programme which included fitness assessment and body fat analysis.

“I am very proud of what we have achieved with FOSSIL and I certainly consider them one of the reasons that fitMK offers the corporate programme that we now offer.”

Over the last 18 months Simon has worked on building up the number of corporate customers and FOSSIL was one of the first companies that took on his services.

FOSSIL’s commitment to a healthy workplace has earned it a Simplyhealth Healthy Workplace award from the healthcare provider.

The Healthy Workplace awards recognise the contribution that UK organisations, in both the private and public sector, make to the welfare of their employees. Winners of the award provide employees with a range of initiatives and benefits that help to keep their workforce motivated and healthy.

FOSSIL MD Giles Bushby said: “We go to great lengths to ensure that we support our staff to achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle and this is a very welcome recognition for our efforts.”

Howard Hughes from Simplyhealth congratulated FOSSIL on achieving the award: He said: “We run this award scheme because we want to recognise and encourage companies to care about the health of their people. We believe that companies can make a positive contribution to the health of our nation.”
