A chain of high street insurance broking shops is looking forward to the next 50 years despite competition from the internet and call centres.

A-Plan Insurance, which has had a branch in Queensway, Bletchley, since 1999 and 69 other shops in 19 counties, says it offers an alternative in an “increasingly faceless technological age”.

The chain celebrated 50 years in business earlier this month and says there is very much a place for local people who appreciate the nature of face to face service.

Bletchley branch manager, Steve Marsh said: “Strong local demand proves that our high street presence that was established 50 years ago remains as valued today by our clients as it was in 1963 – we’re the antidote to call centres and the internet, where it is really impossible to get advice. If people have any insurance requirements, related questions or need to make a claim then they can speak directly to us and we’ll be happy to help.”

A-Plan is continuing to open branches and a spokesman said “in an increasingly faceless it’s nice to know there is an alternative available. Here’s to the next 50 years!” The chain has a client base numbering around 500,000.

It also does have a website, too at www.aplan.co.uk
