THE freehold of an 88-bedroom Milton Keynes hotel is on the commercial property market for £2,850,000.
Abbey Hill Hotel, in Two Mile Ash, also has seven conference rooms, a lounge and restaurant, a leisure club and beauty salon, and is on the market with Christie & Co.
It has been put on the market by joint administrators Osborn Securities (Hotels) Limited and Milton Keynes Hotel Limited.
Christie & Co, of Silbury Boulevard, is marketing the hotel as a venue great for tourists and businesspeople.
They say it is well-placed for access to many local attractions, including Woburn Abbey, Whipsnade Zoo and Bletchley Park. And the proximity of blue chip companies including Argos, Mercedes Benz and DHL is also a major selling point.
The purpose-built red brick property has a leisure club which includes an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool spa, sauna, gym, steam room and solarium. The leisure club is used by both hotel guests and an external local membership.
The proposed purchaser will be required to offer continuity of employment to currently employed staff in accordance with the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations.
The hotel, which has two main accommodation wings and extensive function/conference facilities, traditionally attracts mid-week corporate guests, and the weekend trade is mainly a mix of leisure-based and business linked to events and functions.
The hotel has a licence for civil ceremonies and has the outside space for summer events. Its conference facilities offer space for meetings, conferences, seminars, training courses and social events.
The Cafe Lounge, restaurant and bar can be used for private events or functions and are also popular with non-guest customers who visit the restaurant which is particularly popular on Sunday for the Carvery.
