EMPLOYERS in Milton Keynes and Cranfield say apprentices offer so much added value to their companies.

Aztech IT based in South Row, Milton Keynes, has taken two apprentices on the National IT Partnership (NITP) course, supported by Bedford College.

Chris Houghton, service desk manager at Aztech said: Our two apprentices take the pressure off senior technicians by trouble shooting from the first call, setting up user accounts and machine bills – all time consuming. They are good at multi tasking, prioritising work and keen to learn.”

Steve Dunmall, MD of Total IT Technology Solutions Ltd in Cranfield, said: “They are hard working, enthusiastic, committed and eager to learn. Working with us they learn how the company works and build up strong business relationships with customers that give them a distinct advantage. They gain knowledge, experience, qualifications and have employment at the end of the apprenticeship programme.”

NITP is rolling out its apprenticeship training across the UK, with Bedford College being one of the first.
