Two Milton Keynes companies have been selected as role models because of their exporting performance.

Queen’s Award winner Niftylift, in Fingle Drive, Stonebridge, boosted overseas sales by 48 per cent in two years while Cognita Schools, in Eastlake Park, Fox Milne, run schools across the world and boosted overseas sales by 34 per cent over two years.

Both companies featured in The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200.

Lewis Scott, South East Regional Director for government exporting body, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), urged other firms to follow the lead of Niftylift and Cognita.

He said: “These firms set a tremendous example which I would urge other local businesses to follow. Boosting our export performance is crucial if we are to secure long term, sustainable economic growth.

“What they really demonstrate is the strength of exporters in the area and the positive impact exporting can have on their company.

“We are committed to helping businesses of all sizes in Milton Keynes and across the South East take their goods and services to overseas markets. A wide range of help and support is available from UK Trade & Investment and other organisations, and I hope the example set by these firms will see more businesses taking up opportunities overseas.”
