ONE of the strangest jobs in Nigel Lazaro’s 25 year career was to take a photograph of a dead person.

Nigel Lazaro, 48, owner of Venture Milton Keynes, in Upper Fourth Street, has received a long service award from he British Institute of Professional Photography.

Nigel has been a professional photographer since he was 18 and has photographed the likes of The Queen, Prince Phillip and former Prime Minister John Major.

But the weirdest job? “The strangest job I’ve ever been on has to be being asked to photograph a deceased relative by a polish family early in my career,” he said. “It’s a common tradition in Polish culture but it was quite a strange experience for me as a young photographer!”

Nigel, who has owned and run Venture Photography studio in Milton Keynes for the last 10 years, has had to adapt and change as his industry has altered.

He said: “I started out at what was called a social photography company, which meant we shot anything and everything from weddings and portraits to events and private occasions.”

Now he works with an 11-strong team of people, including as a trainer, passing on his skills, but he still gets a thrill when he sees his clients’ reactions.

It’s been great to have photographed thousands of families over the years and I still get a real thrill when I see clients’ reactions to our work.”
