The Milton Keynes office of a big regional law firm is basking in the glory of a national award success.

Shakespeares, in Silbury Boulevard, is on the shortlist for Law Firm of the Year in the awards run by legal trade title The Lawyer.

Mark Thompson, a partner based in the firm’s new city office, said: “We understand we’re the only firm with an office in Milton Keynes and the wider region to be nominated so are extremely proud of being selected.”

Firms jostling to be named Law Firm of the Year later this month range from magic circle giant Linklaters and internationally expanding Osborne Clarke and Taylor Wessing to national stalwarts DWF, Flint Bishop, RPC and Shakespeares.

Shakespeares and the other shortlisted firms have beaten hundreds of entrants to make the shortlist which is judged following a huge research process, involving interviewing lawyers and their clients to supplement the nominations.

The winner will be revealed during the awards ceremony in London on June 25.
