An online sports news company has been shortlisted for a prestigious British Media Award - for its printed magazine.

Dunsar Media Company, based at MK Two Business Centre in Bletchley, has been shortlisted for the Print Product of the Year 2013 category for its magazine insidethegames.biz SportAccord.

insidethegames.biz SportAccord is up against Weight Watchers Magazine, Guardian Weekly, Metro, Digital Camera and the Racing Post’s Pocket Post.

The company’s editor, Duncan Mackay is one of Britain’s best-connected journalists and during the 16 years he worked at The Guardian and The Observer he regularly broke a number of major exclusive stories, including news that British sprinter Dwain Chambers had tested positive for banned performance enhancing drugs.

The insidethegames.biz magazine was launched in April 2011 and is an annual publication produced especially for distribution at the SportAccord International Convention and to industry figures. The magazine is high quality and produced to reflect the journalism on its website and as a way of marketing the online brand.

The magazine’s target audience is International Olympic Committee Members, Commonwealth Games Federations, National Olympic Committees, International and National Paralympic Committees, Organising and Bidding Committees of Olympic, Paralympic, Youth and University Games and their sponsors, International and National Sport Federations, suppliers and sponsors to Mega-Sports Events, NOC’s and Federations and the international press.

The winners are announced at a glittering ceremony at the Marriot, Grosvenor Square, London on May 2.
