TV weather girl Clare Nasir has her head in the clouds with her new venture, after completing her first children’s book Colin The Cloud.
Clare from Milton Keynes, who has worked on GMTV, 5 News and BBC North West Tonight, has written her book for four to seven-year-olds.
It tells the tale of Colin The Cloud, who yearns to see the world, and the story also explains basic learning points about weather and simple atmospheric physics.
Clare said: “I’m really excited about these books. Weather has always been my passion and I’m thrilled to be able to introduce our fascinating and ever-changing national obsession to children at a young age.
“Learning can be fun and I hope these weather books reach a generation of children.”
Clare, who was born in Deanhanger and whose family still live in Milton Keynes, is fully qualified with the Met Office, and has a masters in Applied Oceanography and a diploma in Environmental Policy.
She also writes regularly for the Huffington Post on science and weather stories and is Ambassador for the Healthy Air Campaign.
The second book in the series – Steve the Stratus - will be released in April 2015.
