TALK about going the extra mile at work... one company in Milton Keynes had a whopping 43 members of staff taking part in the new city’s first marathon.
Co-sponsors Mazars, based in The Pinnacle, Midsummer Boulevard, drew in employees from as far away as Jersey.
The financial wizards put in 10 teams out of the 100 in the relay and had three employees who ran the whole route of more than 26 miles.
Chris Jackson, partner at Mazars who ran in one of the relay teams, said he is extremely proud of everyone who took part in the evet on April 29.
Between them they’ve raised more than £6000 for charity, £5478 of which has been pledged to Willen Hospice.
Some 4,300 individual runners took part in the race despite wind and rain.
The Mazars runners came from far-flung offices including Poole, London and even Jersey, to run with their Milton Keynes colleagues.
The team members included Leisl Hansen, a financial planning assistant, who ran for Zimbabwe in the woman’s Olympic marathon in Seoul 1988.
