MK Marathon runners will rely on Barley for refreshment

AN award winning logistics company will be supplying about 4,000 marathon runners with much-needed refreshments on Sunday,April 29.

WH Barley Transport and Storage, based in Old Wolverton Road, Old Wolverton, will be using five trailers and three 7.5 tonne vehicles to deliver pallets of water and Lucozade to the 11 refreshment stations at the first ever Milton Keynes Marathon.

Tris Anley, WH Barley’s sales and marketing manager, said: “This is an incredibly complex event to organise and our company are just pleased to have played our part in what should be a fantastic day for Milton Keynes.”

Four of the trailers will be used as a storage area, with the other being used as a stage for VIP guests and the end-of-run presentations next to the stadium:mk home of the MK Dons football team.

WH Barley won the award for Best Business Improvement Through Application of Innovation / Technology at the Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Awards last year.
