Networkers did their bit for charities

A BUSINESS networking group has given £1,000 to help vulnerable people survive cold winter weather.
Midsummer Breakfast Club (MBC), which normally meets at Jurys Inn, Central Milton Keynes, was joined by special guest, actress and comedienne, Kate Robbins.
The Community Foundation will use the money to buy blankets and duvets, emergency food and clothing, kettles, hot water bottles, draught proofing, path clearance, door and window repairs. It’s part of the Surviving Winter Appeal, where the foundation has joined forces with Milton Keynes Age UK, YMCA, SSAFA Forces Help and The Foodbank.
Breakfast club guests also collected more than 150 toys to donate to Home Start, a charity supporting families with young children less than five years of age.
MBC sponsor Sue de Fraine, from Baker Tilly, said: “We are constantly humbled by the response from our networking group when we ask for support for our chosen charities each year. This is a tough time of year for many families and more vulnerable people and we hope that our support through the business community will bring a little cheer through the winter months.”
