A Milton Keynes company has won a gold award for one of its innovative networking events.

Business-to-business marketing services agency P&MM Events & Communications, in Linford Wood, brought together events, communications and hospitality businesses for a networking session and competitive yacht racing on the Solent in June.

Judges at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) Awards 2013 said the return on investment was unparalleled in comparison with the other candidates, particularly when considered against the breadth of stakeholders that it brought together. They awarded P&MM the top prize for Best Live Marketing Event for its Clipper Challenge 2013.

The event was one of the first to use the newly opened Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth.

Delegates ranged from hotel chains and airlines to country marketing agencies in addition to events and marketing professionals from corporate backgrounds.

Nigel Cooper, executive director of P&MM Events and Communications, said: “It was logistically unique, engaging and brought together people from every corner of the UK events and communications industry. More importantly, it brought down barriers between suppliers and buyers – a much needed activity as the UK edges toward recovery.”
