New drive for Milton Keynes to go global to be launched tonight

A new initiative aimed at putting Milton Keynes at the forefront of global trade and commerce is being launched this evening (Thursday).

The MK International Business City Virtual Conference is a bid to open up city business to more than 200 major cities arouund the world in a global partnership of trade and commerce.

New mayor, Brian White, will explain how he intends to use the next 12 months to promote Milton Keynes around the world and to establish new lines of communication with key conurbations. He will be discussing the best ways business and technology companies can take advantage of this plan which will culminate in a full virtual international conference in 2014.

Councillor White will also be outlining plans to attend the World Smart Cities Expo in Barcelona in November and new awards such as Young Entrepreneur, Major Exporter and Most Sustainable Development of the Year.

The initiative is being launched at Milton Keynes College’s Chaffron Way Campus. The event is being organised in conjunction with Biztech, the business and technology forum.
