A young painter and decorator from Milton Keynes hopes to make a lasting impression in awards for entrepreneurship and small businesses.
John Triplis, 26, founder of Lasting Impressions, in Pettingrew Close, Walnut Tree, will join more than 1,000 business owners in Birmingham tomorrow (Friday) for the first National Entrepreneur Awards
He’s up for Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
John moved to Milton Keynes in 2012 and set up his commercial and domestic property maintenance company with just £2,000. He was nominated for the award for differentiating Lasting Impressions from competitors in the industry.
Since placing a welcome video on his website, his client conversion rate has increased by almost 200 per cent. He also set up a Google AdWords campaign, to which he has seen a 2,500 per cent return on investment.
He said: “When I moved to Milton Keynes last year, I had £2,000 start a business from scratch, so I knew the pressure was on. I joined Nigel Botterill’s Entrepreneur’s Circle shortly after because I knew I had to find a way to differentiate myself from the competition.Painting and decorating is a tough industry to be in as many people believe tradesmen are rogues, but this simply spurs me on to prove them wrong.
