A MILTON Keynes company has won a top award for its mobile ordering service.

Domino’s Pizza, which has its HQ in West Ashland, scooped the Best Food & Cooking award in the Carphone Warehouse Appys 2012.

The Appys celebrate development and innovation in app technology. Domino’s won after a public vote and fought off competition from Jamie’s Recipes, BBC Good Food Healthy Recipes and Gordon Ramsay Cook With Me to take the spoils.

Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director of Domino’s Pizza, said: “Mobile currently accounts for 14 per cent of online sales and download figures for our apps continue to grow. We’re sure this trend is set to continue – especially with this prestigious Appy award now under our belts!”

In a first for the company, during the 13 weeks to March 25 more than £1million in sales were taken through Domino’s mobile platforms in a single week.

It has more the 520,000 Facebook fans in the UK more than 22,000 Twitter followers.
