Members of the Society of Radiographers (SoR) in England have voted to accept the NHS pay offer for 2015/16.

The agreement comes after several months of staff working to rule across the NHS, including at Milton Keynes Hospital.

A 12-hour strike was cancelled last month, which would have seen members join fellow trade unionists from UNISON striking at Milton Keynes Hospital. Action was sparked when the government ignored the independent pay review body’s recommendation to award a one per cent increase.

Members of the Society of Radiographers in England will now not take any further industrial action in England.

Paul Moloney, the society’s industrial relations manager welcomed the result of the consultation, said: ”Radiographers have simply wanted to be treated fairly.

“Unfortunately members working in senior positions, undertaking managerial roles, have still been denied justice by the government’s refusal to apply the increase to the higher pay rates. We will vigorously pursue this at future NHS pay reviews.”
