A Newport Pagnell business owner’s call for action has resulted in plans for a massive new conference in Milton Keynes.

Mother of three Victoria Beale, who owns Rapid Sales Solutions, based at the Interchange Business Centre, says there is a need for help and advice on how to trade overseas.

Now, after months of preparation, 14 promotional and business growth company owners from Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire have announced Business Expo 3.0, to be held at StadiumMK on March 8, 2013.

It is planned to be the UK’s first large-scale B2B conference of its kind designed for international and national businesses outside of the NEC and London. The team are expecting 150 exhibitors and more than 1,000 delegates. It is believed that more than 50 per cent of British businesses are within a 90-minute journey of the venue.

Victoria said: “Businesses throughout the UK are being encouraged to trade internationally to reduce the impact of national economic fluctuations. This one-day conference is designed to help bridge the knowledge gap between being advised to look for business further afield, knowing how to do it and the implications directors need to be aware of.

“We believe it’s the first of its kind and it’s certainly the first time anything like this has been hosted outside the established venues in London and Birmingham.”

The Business Expo 3.0 website national-expo.co.uk was launched on August 8 and contains a movie explaining more about the thought process behind the event.

In addition to exhibitors there will be a line-up of keynote speakers backed by workshops. These include: The Smart City concept – the UK’s international application; Breaking national boundaries with technology; Finding out what’s coming next – bridging the gap between universities, research and business opportunities; Funding business expansion at home and overseas; and an update on the rapidly changing social media, online community landscape.
